YEAR WISE ACTIVITIES:

• General Body members meet in a quarterly basis to discuss regarding implementation of different policy level decisions taken in Annual General Body Meeting.
• Support during COVID 19: The members of OPSWA raised fund of an amount of Rs. 1,11,000 for the Chief Minister Relief fund and SAMAJ relief fund. An amount of One Lakh One Thousand handed over to Mr Pradeep Kumar Jena, IAS, Commissioner OSDMA, Govt of Odisha and an amount of Rs. 10,000 to SAMAJ office to extend the supporting hand of OPSWA for the affected people during COVID 19 pandemic.
• Sub Committee Meeting: Different Sub-committee meetings held during the year and the responsibility of the respective committee discussed to implement the activities. Active membership drives throughout the year.
• National Level Seminar on “Corporate Social Responsibility: Scope and Opportunities for Professional Social Workers” - December 21, 2019. Supported by GAIL, NALCO, MCL, Auditvo and other leading corporates.
• Consultation meetings for council formation.
• Petitions to Governor, Chancellors for upgrading courses of studies, removal of restriction on graduates eligible for social work courses, faculty appointment and recognition of social work as professional course.
• The East zone action committee for NCSWE formed on 3rd February 2021.
• A Consultative Meet on Enhancing Professional Skills & Core Competencies in Social Work held on 27th June 2021
• East Zone Meeting on National Council of Social Work held on 4th July 2021
• Webinar held on Need and way forward in collaboration with OPSWA and Department of Social Work, Sambalpur University, on 7th July 2021.
• Webinar on Need and Scope of National Council for Social Work Education held on 13th July 2021.
• Webinar held on NCSWE - Issues and Challenges in collaboration of OPSWA and Social Work Department, BJB College on 20th July 2021.
• NSWIO –OPSWA formed for all SW Institution for better coordination of Social WorkDepartment. 30 faculties from social work department are the members from the State of Odisha.
• All Odisha Social Work Student Committee formed to provide a better platform for professional growth and development. Within a stipulated time period 410 students are linked in this group.
• For database, a Google form is developed for all the professionals and students.
• Social Work educators meet was also held.
• To commemorate the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav as declared by Government of India, OPSWA organized debate competition on the topic ‘Gandhian Social Work vs Modern Social Work’ for the students of Social Work of different Institution on 15th Aug’21.
• APCD-OPSWA sub committee decided to conduct different events during coming 6 months through webinar.
• The OPSWA account is shifted from Kalinga Vihar branch to Jayadev Vihar branch.
